With its sumptuous harmonies, influence of medieval chant and characterful word painting this work is a popular one amongst choral music lovers. Alongside it we will perform other beautiful music from Switzerland and Lichtenstein including Rheinberger’s much loved Abendlied as well as his Stabat Mater in G minor. Finally, we feature two short choral pieces by Swiss composers. Flowers by Caroline Charrière was written in 2008 and is a beautiful and calm setting of words by Emily Dickinson.
