Add to my Calendar 21-11-2015 19:30 21-11-2015 21:30 36 Rutland Sinfonia - Classics in Oundle Our annual concert at St. Peter's Church, Ounlde will start woth Wagner's 'grand' overture to his first major opera, Rienzi.  Those who know his mature operas and the music of the Ring Cycle will be surprised by the youthful energy of this overture! The Sinfonia welcomes Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition Finalist Robert Markham as our soloist in Beethoven's fourth Pian Concerto and the concert will conclude with Rachmaninov's emotionally charged second symphony.  The work is often seen as a close companion to his second piano concerto concerto and is again full of the composer's lavish romatic melodies.
