Add to my Calendar 23-03-2024 19:30 23-03-2024 21:30 36 Of Music & Invention With Cantorum, Blundell’s School In celebration of the inventive genius of Da Vinci and the industrial heritage of Tiverton’s textile industry, Exeter Festival Chorus presents a programme of music ancient and modern – old texts are presented with both centuries-old settings and new music by living composers. The concert features Cecilia McDowall’s Da Vinci Requiem, which was written in 2019 to coincide with the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death and was inspired by his extraordinary philosophical thoughts about the nature of mortality (sung in English and Latin). Also in the programme are works by exciting contemporary composers, including Eric Whitacre and award-winning video games composer Jessica Curry. EFC is grateful to Heathcoat Fabrics Limited for its generous sponsorship of this concert. The venue has full disabled access and facilities. Accompanying carers are eligible for free entry. Running time: 90 minutes plus a 20-minute interval (refreshments will be available).
