Programme Note

Daniel studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Andrea Gajic where he won numerous prizes including the Nan Christie Memorial Prize of Strings, the Robert Highgate Scholarship for Violin, 
the Hilda Briley Prize for Violin and the Bessie Spence Prize for Violin.
     He then continued at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Philippe Honore
 and Erich Gruenberg.
     Highlights include a duet with violinist Nichola Benedetti at BBC Proms 2012 broadcast live 
on BBC Radio 3, as well as solo appearances with Glasgow Philharmonia, Hastings Sinfonia and RCS Symphony Orchestra. 
     In December 2014, Daniel made his debut in Japan performing/directing Vivaldi's Four Seasons and the world première of Rhapsody, a new work written for him by Japanese composer Nobuya Monta with the Osaka Concert Orchestra as well as the première of his second Violin Sonata.
     Daniel currently plays a Domenico Busan violin c.1770 on loan from the Harrison Frank Foundation.
