Programme Note

University of London Symphony Orchestra invites you to our final concert of the season with a programme to include Brahms' 2nd Symphony and Weber's Concerto for bassoon in F major. They will be joined by principal conductor, Daniel Capps and soloist Angharad Elin Thomas.

Daniel Capps has been working as resident conductor at the New York City Ballet since July 2012, and makes regular appearances at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Daniel's work with the Royal Ballet has received much critical acclaim and has been broadcast on both television and 'Big Screens' in the UK and abroad, including a DVD release of Wayne McGregor's ballet 'Chroma'.

Angharad Thomas read Music at New College, Oxford, where she ga...ined both undergraduate and masters degrees with first class honours. She has recently completed her masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music with distinction. Angharad is now a freelance bassoonist, performing with ensembles such as Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and Ulster Orchestra.
