Programme Note

Join the Illyrian Ensemble as they present a concert of pastoral music in the beautiful setting of St Stephen's Church, Gloucester Rd, London.

The Illyrian Ensemble will meander through Smetana's depiction of the Vltava River from his Ma Vlast suite, before being joined by baritone Angus McPhee to perform Dvorak's Biblical Songs - not often performed in their orchestral setting. Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony will round off an evening of music inspired by the countryside and God, conducted by founder and artistic director Benjamin James.
