The singers will perform arrangements of some of Europe's best-loved traditional carols alongside intricate polyphony, exploring depictions of Mary across the ages. From the ancient, hauntingly beautiful music of Praetorius and Tallis to the captivating, bright harmonies of the more contemporary sound-worlds of Rutter and Tavener, 'A Crown of Roses' examines Mary's role in the nativity, and the signs and symbols that point to the sorrow and glory that were yet to come.
