Programme Note

Commemorating the 400th anniversary of Orlando Gibbons death a selection of his sacred and secular music including Almighty and Everlasting God, O Clap Your Hands and the Cries of London along with works by his contemporaries and influences include Thomas Tallis, William Byrd and Richard Farrant, plus O Clap Your Hands by the young London-based composer Jack Redman.

And we pick up on the continuing madrigal tradition with music by Robert Lucas Pearsall, Edmund Rubbra's Five Madrigals Op. 51 and Three Madrigals by Will Harmer, written for the National Youth Choir.
