The second half opens with the contemporary sounds of Jessie Montgomery’s ‘Strum’ for String Quintet, a dynamic and innovative piece that pushes the boundaries of classical music. We conclude the evening with the timeless beauty of Mozart’s Symphony no.40 in G minor, a classical masterpiece that continues to resonate through the ages. This concert is the conclusion of our annual education project in Stockport Schools, sponsored by CDL Software, and we also perform the piece that the students composed alongside members of the NCO.
