Programme Note

Jess Gillam is a pioneer, ‘Sound of Classical Poll’ winner at the Brit Awards and one of the most exciting saxophonists working today. Jess oversees a special programme inspired by the energy of nature, embracing the power of the sea, the ethereal beauty of sunrise, and the vibrancy of skylarks and dancing bees in spring sky.

Joining Jess for this performance is BBC Young Musician competition winner Callum Smart. Callum, on solo violin, will evoke the soaring lark in flight with Vaughan-Williams’ concert favourite The Lark Ascending. Manchester Camerata Music Director Gábor Takács-Nagy conducts.

Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to see incredible young artists at the top of their game.
