Programme Note

Canadian conductor Bradley Thachuk takes the podium for this concert, which celebrates two of the greatest ballet scores of the 20th Century by composers whose love and understanding of dance are legendary. Ravel’s Mother Goose is a work of subtle colour, playful wit and heart-rending lyricism, while Stravinsky’s Danses Concertantes resonates with the kind of earthy rhythmic life that marked so much of his music.

The brilliant young dancers of Academy Theatre Arts, whose performance of Copland’s Appalachian Spring was a highlight of the 2017-8 ESO season, return, promising another unforgettable fusion of dance and music on the Swan Theatre stage.

Avoid disappointment by booking early.
