Programme Note

John Ashton Thomas is one of this country’s most versatile composers. It is hard to think of a genre or ensemble type for which he has not written during his award-winning career. Whilst his most prolific work has been for the big screen; the long list of films on which he has worked ranges from King Lear to The Bourne Trilogy - this concert shows that he is equally brilliant writing on a much smaller scale. Showcasing his own choice of chamber music with a hint of jazz on the side this concert features John’s chamber and jazz musicians of choice.
