The ensemble received a Chamber Music and Song Award from the Royal Philharmonic Society for the project in April 2016. Acclaimed for its interpretation of contemporary repertoire, the Carducci String Quartet has premièred many specially composed works by composers including Huw Watkins, Huang Ruo, John McCabe, Michael Berkeley and Sven-Ingo Koch. In addition to its busy concert schedule, the Quartet curates festivals both in Highnam, Glos and Castagneto Carducci in Italy – the town from which they took their name. www.carducciquartet.com William Howard (www.williamhoward.co.uk) is one of Britain’s leading pianists, enjoying a career as soloist and chamber musician that has taken him to over 40 different countries. In 1983 he founded the Schubert Ensemble, with which he performed for the full 35 years of the Ensemble’s existence. He performs regularly at major venues and festivals in the UK and can be heard frequently on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.
