Le Page Trio at The Jazz Room

Add to my Calendar 13-11-2018 20:00 13-11-2018 22:00 36 Le Page Trio at The Jazz Room 7 Star Arts presents..... Le Page Trio, performing classical music in the intimate setting of the iconic Jazz Room. “We need brave music” Shostakovitch A night of inspirational music by Ravel, Debussy and Shostakovich: from Debussy’s deeply characterful and expressive cello sonata through Ravel’s groundbreaking Duo for violin and cello to Shostakovich’s epic second Piano Trio, drawing on folk melodies and Jewish themes – a musical tribute that used the scales and rhythms of Jewish folk music as Shostakovich knew it. Performed by the newly formed Le Page Trio, this promises to be a magical evening of dramatic, vivid music. Three outstanding soloists and chamber musicians with a long history of collaboration assemble their curational expertise and musical experience to form a piano trio with a difference; breaking boundaries between musician and audience with unique and inventive programming, seeking to present the piano trio repertoire in a new light. Each musician has carved out a distinguished career and brings an impressive variety of skills to the Trio. The Jazz Room, a venue more usually associated with the genre of music after which it is named, plays host to a programme of classical music including works by Ravel, Bach and Gershwin. The small size of the Jazz Room creates a very special, intimate atmosphere in which to enjoy music, and audience members have the opportunity to meet the performer after the concert and mingle with other concert-goers.
