Programme Note
Horsham Symphony Orchestra dance into 2023 with a family-friendly concert packed with classical and jazz favourites.
The concert opens with Three Dance Episodes from Bernstein’s hugely successful musical “On the Town”, before showcasing Gershwin’s jazz-inspired Rhapsody in Blue, featuring Rachel Fryer as piano soloist.
After the interval HSO perform Stravinsky’s witty Circus Polka, followed by Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, as featured in the Disney classic “Fantasia”. The concert ends with a thrilling finale: Four Dance Episodes from Copland’s toe-tapping ballet, Rodeo.
