Performers

Tim Callaghan – violin
Maureen Galea – piano

Programme Note

6 interactive mini-concerts for the very young: 15 Oct, 12 Nov, 21 Jan, 3 Mar, 21 Apr, 2 Jun.

Now entering its third year, Mozart & Muffins will consist of six interactive sessions aimed at engaging with and enthusing the very youngest amongst us. Whether it is on strings, woodwind, brass or percussion, babies, toddlers and parents alike enjoy a sometimes noisy but high-quality hour safe in the surroundings of the historic Guildhall on the High Street.

For the first session violinist Tim Callaghan will start with a delicious piece Edward Elgar and will conclude with a fiery dance composition by the Spanish composer Manuel de Falla. In between these pieces Tim will be playing music from more than 300 years of violin history, including pieces by Bach, Frank Bridge and Fritz Kreisler.

Also included in the program will be favourite nursery rhyme tunes and we hope the audience will be able to join in.
