Programme Note
For our summer concert on June 29th the orchestra is delighted to welcome back soloist Tom Hicks for Brahms' Piano Concerto No 2. Tom performed Brahms Concerto No 1 with us in the autumn of 2015, and we're looking forward to working with him again. The concertos - written at different stages of Brahms' life and separated by a gap of 22 years - were described by Stephen Hough as "two of the greatest pillars of the Romantic repertoire". The programme is completed with Tchaikovsky's emotional and expressive 4th Symphony. Tickets are available online.
