Programme Note

Experience an electrifying evening as musicians from The National Youth Orchestra take you on a daring musical adventure, with two composers whose music is a catalyst to new ideas and creativity.

Carlos Simon’s work is inspired by the countless graffiti artists around the world whose self-expression allows their audiences to ask is it art or vandalism?  ‘What I am trying to achieve is to be what I am to the fullest’ declared Julius Eastman in 1976. His Stay on It is a creative provocation – and it’s really groovy music!
