Irish soprano Ailish Tynan has built a loyal following of song fans following her triumphant win at the 2003 Rosenblatt Recital Song Prize at BBC Cardiff Singer of the World. She was a member of the prestigious Vilar Young Artist Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and a BBC New Generation Artist, where she recorded and performed prolifically with the BBC orchestras and in recital. Recognised for the beauty of her voice, her engaging stage presence and her inventive programming she is a regular guest at Wigmore Hall. Leading operatic roles have taken her to The Royal Opera, ENO, Teatro alla Scala and Houston Grand Opera, working with conductors including Gergiev, Järvi, Maazel, Pappano and Elder. She has appeared at both first and last night of the BBC Proms.
