Programme Note

‘The Sublime, the grand, and the Tender, adapted to the most elevated and moving Words, conspired to transport and charm the ravished Heart and Ear’ wrote a reviewer after the first performance and in the 279 years since, the work has continued to transport and charm audiences throughout the world.

Messiah has become a staple of the Christmas Season and MK Chorale is delighted to return to performing with this enduring work containing popular choruses such as 'Hallelujah' and 'For unto us a child is born’. They will be joined by Milton Keynes Youth Choir, the Adderbury Ensemble and a quartet of soloists from the Royal Academy of Music for what is certain to be an uplifting and joyous concert.

Featuring soloists from the Royal Academy of Music, including our conducting scholar Olivia Shotton.
