The London Novello Ensemble is successfully proving that you can make classical music accessible without making it crummy. Whether you’re a music-lover in shorts and flip-flops or you have never been to a concert before and are still in last night’s ballgown, this is for you; a proper concert, but without the formality and etiquette of the concert hall, and with a sociable relaxed vibe**. You’ll get the sextet version of Mozart’s celebrated Sinfonia Concertante (actually published before the more familiar orchestral version) and what is probably Bach’s most famous concerto: the ‘double’ concerto for 2 violins in D minor. The concert also features the ravishing sextet from ‘Capriccio’ - Richard Strauss’s opera that spends most of its time debating whether words or music are greater. After months of various politicians babbling twaddle at us out of every available device, we know what we think, but there’ll be a bit of both here as our leader Gavin Davies introduces the pieces with his unique style of stand-up. As always there’ll be a few musical surprises from around the globe, the bar will be open throughout for drinks and snacks, and your ticket even includes an invitation to the afterparty in Arch 3 where you can enjoy 2 Martinis (and other selected drinks) for the price of 1. Advanced booking advised, tickets available on the door for £18 Topolski, London DD/MM/YYYY
