We are a full symphony orchestra, originally set up for players who wished to 'return' to playing after some time away from their instrument. Today we are a mixture of the ‘original’, as well as more recent, returners, and other enthusiastic players of intermediate to advanced level. Our repertoire is predominantly classical, both traditional and contemporary, and we perform at prestigious venues throughout the year.
We welcome interest from new players over 18 years, and details of current vacancies can be found on our website. In particular we are looking for additional string and brass players. The orchestra is not suitable for beginners or professional players – a minimum standard of about grade 5 is desirable.
The orchestra usually rehearses on Mondays at 7.30pm during school term time, at Truro School. Find out more at our website:
