At the heart of this concert are Handel’s majestic Water Music and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No.1 – his ‘job application par excellence’ written for the Margrave of Brandenburg. The first is the grandest and richest of all six concertos, with the most solo instruments and movements. Pre-concert talk with Steve Clarke begins at 6.45pm.
