Programme Note

Craig Lawton and the Charity Symphony Orchestra are joined by the award-winning violinist, Shoshanah Sievers, to raise money for KIDS.

The programme is aimed at evoking feelings of fun, romance and excitement beginning with notes from Tchaikovsky’s holiday in Italy and then the richly tuneful and masterfully orchestrated violin concerto by Wieniawski. This demands both musical poetry from the orchestra as well as virtuosic fire from the soloist!

The second half returns to holidays with a trip to Cuba and the rhythm of the rumba continuing into Bernstein’s famous symphonic dances from West Side Story.
