Programme Note

Phillips Exeter Academy Concert Choir will make their debut tour to the UK with a concert on Friday 8 March at 5.30pm at University Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Oxford

They will be joined by the Academy’s Chamber Orchestra, and together will present Tarik O’Regan’s captivating Triptych. The evening will also feature a selection of works by the great European and American composers including Henry Purcell, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Johann Christian Bach, Béla Bartók, William Billings and Samuel Barber.

Phillips Exeter Academy Concert Choir is a 45-voice mixed chorus from Phillips Exeter Academy, one of the oldest secondary schools in the states. Aside from its extensive repertoire ranging from 16-century to contemporary choral works, the choir also frequently premiers new creations by student and alumni composers. In addition, the choir has sung choral masterpieces with professional orchestras and soloists.

The concert is free, with a retiring collection for Oxfam local.
