Programme Note

Join the Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor George Morton as they kick off their 79th concert series in exquisite style at the historic Victoria Hall.

The programme includes a lively Overture from L’Amant Anonime by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, followed by a selection of beautifully (and newly!) orchestrated songs by Clara Schumann featuring soprano, Ella Taylor.  The orchestra will then present Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4, which will take listeners on a journey from the whimsical sound of sleigh bells to the serene depiction of a child's vision of heaven.
