As the autumn nights draw in, the Havant Symphony Orchestra welcomes you to a very special Oktoberfest concert, under the baton of our talented conductor, Ben Qureshi.
Brahms’s Academic Festival Overture gets the evening off to a suitably celebratory start, weaving together a number of student drinking songs into a brilliantly spirited orchestral party. From there, the mood turns more mysterious and reflective with Schubert’s haunting Unfinished Symphony, before Brahms’ glorious Second Symphony brings the evening to a warm and triumphant close.
Whether you are a lifelong classical devotee or looking for an inspiring night out, come and enjoy an Oktoberfest with a difference: great music, plenty of orchestral froth and at least a passing acquaintance with the songs that inspired the title. Prost!
