Programme Note

For their first concert of 2019, The Sinfonia of Cambridge presents a programme exploring different combinations of musical partners: lovers, fairy tale characters and a pair of stringed instruments all come together for music which compares and contrasts pairs of themes, styles and sounds. Reflecting this, Joy Lisney (cello) and her sister Emma (violin) join the Sinfonia as soloists for a performance of Brahms' Double Concerto, along with chamber choirs from St. John’s College School.
