Programme Note

Six alumni of the acclaimed Samling Artist Programme reflect on things earthly and heavenly in an evening of song.

Sarah Gilford is a former Cardiff Singer of the World Finalist; Ellen Pearson and Sam Hird are Jette Parker Artists at Royal Ballet and Opera; Hugo Brady is an OAE Rising Star of the Enlightenment and Francesca Lauri’s many awards include the Ferrier Awards Accompanist Prize. These five rising stars appear alongside the internationally acclaimed pianist Jonathan Ware.

This annual concert brings together an impressive line-up of young artists who are embarking on major careers across the UK and Europe and llustrates Samling Institute’s outstanding and ongoing impact on the world of song and opera.
