Programme Note

Man, Woman, Child is a new duet cycle by Jonathan Dove, commissioned by Samling Institute for Young Artists to mark its twenty-fifth anniversary. The title of this spirited and tender cycle, which will be performed for the first time by Alexandra Lowe, Filipe Manu and James Baillieu, gives inspiration to a programme celebrating the great 20th century flourishing of English song.

This recital by six Samling Artists from across the years highlights Samling Institute’s unique contribution over the past 25 years to nurturing the brightest and the best of young classical singers and pianists nationally and internationally.
