Samling Institute for Young Artists
Programme Note
Popular in the eighteenth century, Conversation Piece portraits depicted small groups of family or friends in domestic or garden settings. In this year’s Wigmore Hall Showcase, six Samling Artists invite you to enter the world of the Conversation Piece, revealing in song what might have been said and what was left unsaid across time and space.
This song recital brings together an impressive line-up of some of the brightest and best young artists, including Bethany Horak-Hallett and Ted Black making their Wigmore Hall debuts. It is the flagship public event for the Samling Artist Programme and a key element of the ongoing support provided to alumni.
This concert is part of Wigmore Hall's £5 ticket scheme for under-35s.
