Overview
Paris has inspired countless composers and artists down the centuries. Alexandre Tharaud pays tribute to his native city and its vibrant music, from cabaret tunes and Poulenc’s tender homage to Édith Piaf, the ‘little sparrow’, to Gérard Pesson’s ‘piano chanson’ after the legendary poet-singer Barbara and Alexis Weissenberg’s toe-tapping take on a Charles Trenet hit.
