Programme Note

Almost exactly 150 years after its first performance, WMC and Winchester College perform one of the greatest choral works of the 19th century, Brahms' German Requiem, along with the less well-known but equally beautiful Song of Destiny. James Newby, winner of the 2016 Kathleen Ferrier Award, and Julie Cooper, best known as a member of award-winning choir The Sixteen, join us as soloists in the magnificent space of Winchester Cathedral.
