April will see the Queen’s 90th birthday, and in April also falls the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. At a more modest level, 2016 marks the Silver Jubilee of the WSO itself. The British theme runs through this concert, with pieces by six composers representing the great variety of music associated with these isles.
