Add to my Calendar 22-08-2020 17:00 22-08-2020 19:00 36 Wolterton Park Recitals World Class musicians are to perform in North Norfolk on the 21st and 22nd August as Wolterton Hall hosts two enchanting evenings of string music - in aid of Help Musicians Charity. The Wolterton Park Recitals bring together nine internationally acclaimed musicians, The Wolterton Ensemble, who will play Baroque and Romantic music underneath the arches of Wolterton Hall’s grand hall. Enjoying the recitals from a reserved area of the South Lawn, guests are encouraged to bring picnics, chairs and blankets. A maximum of 6 guests are permitted per booking, with the best positions in Wolterton Hall’s grounds secured through booking early. The Recitals are being held in aid of The Help Musicians Charity, an independent UK charity supporting professional musicians of all genres who are in hardship due to Covid 19. Under the artistic direction of Norfolk based Hannah Perowne, who has led orchestras in Germany and Europe, has created a captivating programme which includes Handel, J S Bach and Vivaldi.Peter Sheppard and Keith Day at Wolterton Park are delighted to be able to offer live, open-air music during this time of music deprivation. Peter adds: “The Wolterton Park Recitals give people the opportunity to view Wolterton Hall, an eighteenth-century Palladian mansion from the outside whilst enjoying world class music on the lawns. The team has worked hard to ensure this is a well organised, socially distanced event that supports talented musicians. The Baroque Recital music has specifically been chosen due to these composers being prolific in the UK and Europe at the time Wolterton Hall was being built during the early eighteenth century. It is also the 250th anniversary of Beethoven this year who could have visited the house had he made his way to Norfolk.” He continues: “We feel great sympathy for those in the world of the performing arts who have had no work for months. These talented musicians are receiving a fee for the performances with the remainder going to The Help Musicians Charity, a fantastic charity that has helped support so many musicians during the Covid crisis. We hope this concert will be the first of many here at Wolterton and we are delighted that Hannah Perowne, an internationally respected musician who lives in Norfolk will be our Music Director.” Doors open at 5.00pm with the Recitals starting at 6.00pm. World Class musicians are to perform in North Norfolk on the 21st and 22nd August as Wolterton Hall hosts two enchanting evenings of string music - in aid of Help Musicians Charity.
