Programme Note

Worcester Festival Choral Society is delighted to open its 2024-25 concert season with a stunning programme of much-loved choral and orchestral works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Gabriel Fauré.

From the lively overture to Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute and the divine choral harmonies of his Solemn Vespers, to the tuneful beauty of Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine and the glorious richness of his Requiem mass, this is a concert not to be missed.

Appearing alongside the 140 voices of Worcester Festival Choral Society will be four, internationally acclaimed soloists. Conducted by director of music Samuel Hudson, and accompanied by the superb Meridian Sinfonia orchestra, the concert’s magnificent setting of Worcester Cathedral adds the perfect finishing touch.
