Programme Note
200 Young Voices from Worcestershire schools and colleges perform The Armed Man with the Orchestra Of The Swan to mark the centenary of the Great War. Neil Ferris, Chorus Director of the BBC Symphony Chorus, conducts the performance which will include the screening of international award-winning photographs from the major exhibition, 'Fields of Battle - Lands of Peace 14/18'. The programme also includes Elgar's iconic cello concerto, composed in 1919 during the aftermath of the First World War, which will be played by former BBC Young Musician Winner, Laura van der Heijden.
