Yevgeny Sudbin – Piano

Programme Note

Highly praised as a concert soloist - Yevgeny Sudbin has been hailed by The Telegraph as “one of the greatest pianists of the 21st century”.

Tonight, as we open our second music education centre, Yevgeny plays a one-off concert as a fundraiser for World Heart Beat Music Academy, with 100% of the ticket proceeds contributing to the funding of our bursaries programme. This concert has been generously donated by Antony Thomlinson,

World Heart Beat Music Academy gives children and young people, many of whom live in challenging circumstances, the opportunity to learn music. We open our doors - and provide free instruments and tuition - to any young person wanting to learn music. With the present cost-of-living crisis, families face even greater financial challenges, which means that the bursaries we provide are more vital than ever.

Yevgeny’s recordings meet with universal critical acclaim and are regularly featured as 'CD of the Month' by BBC Music Magazine or 'Editor’s Choice' by Gramophone.

"A pianist of uncommon sensitivity and refinement who has total confidence in his imaginative concept of each piece." (The Independent)
