Two magnificent 18th century symphonies from Haydn and Mozart, surround Wagner’s famous Siegfried Idyll. Written in 1868 as a romantic present for his wife, this symphonic tone poem for chamber orchestra oozes serenity, calm, and intimacy. Ruth Gipps’ evocative Seascape is a short unashamedly romantic work composed in 1958 for wind decet. A jewel of a piece, it seems particularly appropriate to be played in Norfolk, with its seemingly endless and exquisite seashore. Aylsham Parish Church, Aylsham DD/MM/YYYYDetails
