The opera will be fully staged, with a cast of exciting young singers and a new arrangement for chamber orchestra. Maria de Rudenz is inspired by an episode of Matthew Gregory Lewis's quintessential gothic novel The Monk, and tells a story of deceit, murder, betrayal, and resurrection from the dead. It premiered in 1838 in Venice. Sung in Italian with English surtitles.
