The English Chamber Orchestra conducted by Nicholas Kraemer returns to Cadogan Hall to perform Handel’s oratorio Messiah. The orchestra is joined by the Choir of Royal Holloway and internationally acclaimed soloists Carolyn Sampson, Tim Mead, Andrew Staples and Matthew Brooks.
First performed in 1742, it has become tradition around the world for Messiah to be performed at both Easter and during the festive season. Messiah is famed for its sublime arias and uplifting choruses such us Ev’ry valley shall be exalted, Rejoice greatly O daughter of Zion, The trumpet shall sound, For unto us a child is born, Worthy is the Lamb & Amen and of course the ever-popular Hallelujah Chorus.
