Programme Note

A Night at the Opera you won’t forget - dramatic scenes, arias and choruses from some of our favourite Italian Operas in opulent acoustic splendour. Nessun Dorma, Mascagni’s Easter Hymn, the love duet in La Boheme and the dramatic conclusion to Act 1 of Tosca, to name but a few items …. This performance has the advantage that you see and hear a big chorus and large orchestra in full flight and at full volume for less than the price a cinema ticket. Starring Natasha Jouhl (Rusalka for Glyndebourne Opera) and Keel Watson as the dreaded Scarpia (ENO)] supported by the Clifton Festival Singers, Ealing Symphony Orchestra and experienced opera conductor John Gibbons who has conducted over twenty opera productions for Opera Holland Park, virtually all the major British orchestras, and recorded discs of Mozart, Bruckner and Benjamin for various labels.
