this was a slow-burning, gripping performance, the playing rich and passionate [The Strad]
First Prize and Audience Prize winner of the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition 2015, the Linos Piano Trio has achieved recognition as an extremely dynamic and creative young chamber ensemble.
Drawing on the rich and varied musical backgrounds of its members which include specialisms in historically informed performance, contemporary music and composition, the Linos Piano Trio has become renowned for its distinctive voice. Praised for its ‘slow-burning, gripping’ performance by The Strad, and an ‘astounding performance’ by the Hannoversche Allgemein, the rising reputation of the trio has taken it to such prestigious venues as the Barbican and Wigmore Halls in London, Schoenberg Centre in Vienna, Cité des Arts in Paris, Holzhausenschlösschen in Frankfurt and the György Ligeti Saal in Graz.
The Linos Piano Trio recently recorded the complete C.P.E. Bach Piano Trios. The group has also just launched its ‘Stolen Music’ project, which seeks to expand the standard repertoire by arranging orchestral works for the piano trio medium.
