Programme Note
The Wigmore Hall recital of Slovenian violinist Lana Trotovšek and Catalan pianist Maria Canyigueral was praised for its ‘true feel of live intuitive performance’ (The Strad). On the 70th anniversary of Prokofiev’s death, they present a programme devoted entirely to his music, which they will also release on the SOMM label in 2023.
"Their unforgettable playing takes our breath away" (Delo, Slovenia)
"Superb performance" (Musical Opinion)
About the Sunday Concerts
Founded in the 1880s, our chamber music concert series is the longest-running of its kind in Europe. Conway Hall was purpose-built in 1929 to host concerts and lectures, and they have continued here until the present day. The ethos of “affordable classical music for all” still remains.
