Music and the arts between c1789 and 1848

Introduced and presented by Peter Medhurst

Peter Medhurst explores six principal themes that shaped and hallmarked the Romantic period in the arts: the Napoleonic wars, the wars of independence, the subjective in Romantic expression, the importance of nature, the supernatural and the Gothic, and the rise of nationalism.  The day is illustrated throughout with images and live examples performed by Peter and his team.
