Programme Note
Duo Furioso – Helena Švigelj and Urška Horvat – two young talented cellists from Slovenia, have performed all over Europe and are multiple award-winners.
They are two energetic and expressive performers. Their passion has always been at the heart of their playing!
Their evening programme extends from a sonata by a virtuoso cellist at the court of Louis XV of France, via the Concerto for two Cellos by Vivaldi composed at the beginning of the 18th century, to a Tango by the living composer Borsarello. Among other pieces, they will play the lyrical Swan by Saint-Saëns and two jazz and film inspired pieces composed especially for the Duo by two Slovenian composers.
