Programme Note

Three of Haydn's London symphonies take their place alongside Mozart's much loved first flute quartet.  The symphonies - nos. 94 (Surprise), 101 (The Clock) and 104 (London) - are being played in chamber arrangements by JP Salomon, the impresario who commissioned them and was responsible for bringing Haydn to London in the 1790s.
