Add to my Calendar 01-10-2026 19:30 01-10-2026 21:30 36 Voices of Venezuela: A Centenary Celebration of Modesta Bor Internationally celebrated for her captivating performances, Venezuelan pianist, Clara Rodríguez, holds a deep, lifelong connection to the Latin American piano repertoire. She has advocated for Venezuelan music since childhood, when she performed Modesta Bor’s Children's Suite live on the Venezuelan National Radio.  Over her career, Rodríguez has premiered several of Bor's landmark works in the UK, including the Violin Sonata and the Cello Suite. Marking the centenary of Modesta Bor’s birth, this special concert presents a major selection of her solo piano works, including two of her four Fugues, four of the seven Sarcasmos, and the Suite Criolla - a showcase spanning key stages of her artistic journey. The programme also connects Bor to her contemporaries from the Santa Capilla Superior Music School, featuring fellow pupils of Vicente Emilio Sojo such as Evencio Castellanos and Federico Ruiz, alongside Moisés Moleiro, Sojo's esteemed colleague and friend, and one of Bor's most talented pupils, Miguel Astor. Join us in the heart of London for a rare showcase of Venezuelan masterworks, interpreted by one of the repertoire's foremost champions. This is an ILAMS event organised in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes with the kind support of St Clement Danes as part of Echoes Festival 2026.
