A chance to hear one of the world's ten best.
This concert gives the opportunity to hear one of "ten most exciting young musicians in the world", according to the Daily Telegraph's music critic, Ivan Hewitt.
Hewitt singled out Amiri Harewood for the "huge variety of colours he conjours from the piano, and a sheer delight in music-making".
Named as a Classic FM Rising Star in 2025 and Grand Prize winner of the Young Classical Artist Trust, Amiri has performed at some of the UK's most prestigious venues, including the Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall.
His programme will open with Shumann's extraordinary 'Ghost Variations', his final work before being admitted to a psychiatric hospital, followed by Shostakovich's most powerful and beautiful Prelude and Fugues.The centrepiece will be Bach's glorious Partita in D major.
This concert will be candlelit. Tickets for those attending concerts 2 and 3 will be available at the usual price price for a full-length concert (including a glass of wine or soft drink).
