Programme Note
London Oriana Choir, Dominic Ellis-Peckham and special guests present a programme of music from across the Pond, including rousing new works from Sarah Rimkus and Elaine Hagenberg, the bursting sound-worlds of Eric Whitacre's Cloudburst and Leonard Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, and featuring a world premiere from composer Tara Mack.
A retiring collection will be held for Pembroke Academy of Music, a music education project for young people aged 7-14 years who experience socio-economic disadvantage. Based in Walworth in South London, the Pembroke Academy of Music includes instrument tuition, musicianship, composition, ensemble work, performance opportunities, exam preparation and much more. It aims to unleash the creative potential and capabilities of participants by removing barriers to high quality music education. The choir from the charity are also performing at this concert.
